Essex University is located in Essex England. It was inaugurated in 1963 and started working in 1964. The university received its Royal Charter in 1965. It has many campuses; the largest one of which is the Colchester Campus present in Wivenhoe Park near to Wivenhoe and Colchester. Other campuses include the Southend-On-Sea campus and the Loughton campus. The East 15 Acting School is also in the Loughton campus. The best feature of the university is its staff where the pupils learn in extensive supportive, supervised and experienced environments. The academic staff is ranked Gold in the teaching excellence framework (TEF 2017). The institute is also known for its research projects and is ranked 25th in the United Kingdom for the quality of its research. The university’s motto is derived from Anglo Saxon’s poem The Battle of Maldon. It says: ‘thought harder, heat sharper, heat sharper.

Essex’s coast is 350 miles and is the second-longest coast in any English Country.
It’s honored with the oldest city of Britain, Colchester. It was the very first capital of Rome in England.
The Little Scarlet strawberry, an ideal variant for making jams, is grown here. This renders it in one of the very few places in the world where this unique fruit can be cultivated.
The institute’s main campus is present in UK’s oldest city i.e., Colchester. All three campuses are present nearer to London and the port of Harwich just at the ride of an hour. The Southend campus can be reached from High Street on the new multi-million-pound campus. The Laughton campus is five minutes’ walk away from Debden and 35 minutes from Liverpool Street.
